Nussach for the Yomim Noraim
קומי רוני בלילה בראש אשמרות שפכי כמים לבך נכח פני ה
Arise, cry out at night in the beginning of the watches!
Pour out your heart like water in the Presence of the Lord
Dear Friends,
At the end of Neilah we ask the Almighty to gather our tears and place them in His vessel. What if there are no tears? What if we go about our lives as usual and do not cry out before Hashem?
Let us all make a special effort to once again join together in meaningful prayer for אחינו בית ישראל, peace in Israel, consolation for the bereaved, the speedy recovery of the wounded and sick, the safety of Jews worldwide, and for a year of kindness and compassion.
The following are the nigunim which בע"ה I plan on using during Selichos and Mussaf of Rosh Hashana. (A second list will be published for Yom Kippur). Please take time to familiarize yourself with and be inspired by these melodies so that when we join together, we may cry out in song together and prayer before the Almighty.
Wishing you a כתיבה וחתימה טובה,
Judah Lifschitz
P.S. Thank you to Mitch Taragin for both the idea and for helping to produce the song sheet and playlist.
